Question
Hi Steve
I seem to have a lot of trouble searching old stocks and I am wondering if there is a better search engine than others for this purpose?  I mainly use goggle and Yahoo.  Two old certificates that I am trying to sort out are Fawn Bay Development Ltd purchased in 1972.  This one I can find no record of.  The second is Forest Kerr Mines Ltd purchased in 1972 also.  I find reference to a Forest Kerr that was taken over by Nova Gold in 2007 but I am not sure that it is the same company as there is no mention of "Mines".  Can you please tell me if they are connected?  Thanks in advance.

Answer
Paul, from the information I have available, neither of those two certificates have any value. Fawn Bay did a 1 for 5 reverse split and became Can-Track Industries, which was later dissolved with no value for shareholders. Forest Kerr was dissolved in 1973.

As far as search engines go, it doesn't matter. This kind of information is far too specialized to be found in the search engines. The details of old stocks are generally not available for free online.
