QUESTION: Hi there

I have a certificate for 5 shares of Queensland Acceptance Corporation Ltd. (incorporated in Ontario)  The shares were transferred by Eastern & Chartered Trust Company in 1965.

Would you have any information available on this certificate?

ANSWER: Unfortunately, from the information I have available, the shares have no current value. The company was dissolved in 1970.

Lynda, I don't have any information on what Queensland Acceptance actually did back in the 1960's. The name suggests credit financing or insurance, but ultimately, the name is not a good indicator, especially among Canadian junior companies that frequently change businesses and sectors without always changing their name.
