Question
I have found a share certificate of my grandfather's (dated February 1955) for 100 shares in Dupel Mines Limited.  I can't find any information on the internet on this company, so I assume it no longer exists?  Crown Trust Company, Toronto was the Transfer Agent and Registrar.

Answer
Dawn, from the information I have available, the Company changed names at least 6 times and had 2 reverse stock splits (1 for 12.5, then a 1 for 10). Because of the reverse splits, your grandfather's holdings would have dropped to less than 1 share of the final company, Dexleigh, which went private in 1999. Shareholders received $2 cash per share. If he did not receive the cash for his share, you can search online in the missing property departments for free at www.missingmoney.com and www.naupa.org. Check each State or Province in which he lived from the time he acquired the shares and see if any are holding cash or property in his name.
