I have an old share certificate of Giant Piper Exploration Inc. from 1982.  Are these shares worth anything?

Trish, from the information I have available, the Company did a 1 for 10 reverse split, changed names several times and eventually became American Pacific Minerals. American Pacific became caught up in a high profile fraud case and switched to a Delaware Corporation. However, they just stopped filing their required regulatory information in 2000 and melted away. Therefore, I don't believe the shares have any current value.
