Question
We have a Certificate for 800 shares of a company DIGITAL FUSION MULTIMEDIA CORP dated 11/23/94.  We can find nothing on it.  The agent once listed claims the company dissolved in 2000.  How can we verify this or is it true and these shares have no current day value?

Answer
Kathleen, from the information I have available, the company left Canada in 1996 and reincorporated in the US in Delaware. Therefore, I have no information on them past that date.

However, since the transfer agent maintains the shareholder registry, they will know if the company has value. If they tell you they dissolved in 2000, you should trust them. They are the absolute verifier of value. If the company continued on, the former agent would have either continued to act as transfer agent, or transferred all the records to a new agent, but if they dissolved, the agent would have just received notice the company was terminated and there was no further need for their services or records.
