How can I find out if shares bought in this company have any value?

Grace, from the information I have available, I don't believe the shares have any current value. Lucas merged into Altaur Gold on the basis of 1 Altaur share for every 6 Lucas shares. Altaur stopped filing its required regulatory information in 2000, and was slapped with cease-trade orders in 2001. Those cease-trade orders remain in effect.
