Question
We found two Fractional Gold Medallion Certificate issued via Canada Trust. How would we go about finding out how to cash them in, if possible? Thank you, Jacque

Answer
Jacque, from the information I have available:

Peregrine has gone through numerous changes. They had a 1 for 4 reverse split, then were acquired by Surge on the basis of 1 Surge for every 3.6474 Peregrine. Then Surge was acquired by Innova on the basis of 1.9738 Innova for every Surge share. And finally, Innova was acquired by Crescent Point in 2007 for $7.55 cash per Innova share.

For you to collect any funds out there, the certificates would have to be in your name. The person named on the certs would have been sent a check for the amount due under the acquisition. If they did not, it would have been turned over to the government under their name for safekeeping. If that person is a relative, you could search online at www.missingmoney.com and www.naupa.org.
