Question
I purchased stocks from Barnet Magrill Investments in 1999. I received investment statements from them for a short time.  Unfortunately, they did not reply to a communication that I sent to them in 2001.  Are they still in business?

Answer
Lawrence, Barnet Magrill was one of the notorious penny stock houses that finally got put out of business by the government for defrauding its clients by selling rigged stocks. When the OSC shut them down, the accounts were transferred to Union Securities.

Western Troy is still around. The stock trades for about 25 cents per share on the TSX Venture Exchange. You should contact the transfer agent first. That is Equity (http://equityfinancialtrust.com/) and see if they have you on the books as a shareholder. If not, you should then follow-up with Union.
