Question
The following are old canadian mining stocks my father left me and I just found. Are they worth anything/

Brunswick Mining and Smelting Corporation issued in 19971

Canadian Nisto Mines Ltd - 1969

Derrhorn MInes Ltd  1972

Santa Maria Mines ltd 1975

Lake Chibougamau Mines Ltd ( Quebec)  1956

Answer
From the information I have available:

Brunswick was acquired by Noranda in 1995 on the basis of 0.5 of a Noranda share for 1 share of Brunswick. Noranda became Falconbridge, which was acquired by Xstrata in 2006 for $59/share cash. Assuming the certificate was valid and not already exchange your father should have received the cash at the time of the acquisition. If he did not, the money would have been turned over to the government for safekeeping. You will need to search every State or Province in which he lived from the date of the certificate until the takeover. You can search many online for free at www.missingmoney.com or www.naupa.org.

Canadian Nisto has no value. The Company had its charter cancelled and was dissolved in 1976.

Did you mean "Derrhorn" or "Deerhorn"? If the latter, Deerhorn has no value. It had its charter cancelled and was dissolved in 1978.

Santa Maria had a 1 for 10 reverse split and 2 name changes, but was cease-traded and delisted in 1992.

I have no information at all on Lake Chibougamau at all.
