Question
I have several old share certificates which I would like to know if there is any value to them. These have been left to me from my grandfather and father.

The Hargrave Silver Mines, Limited 5000 shares, dates 1917 and 1918
The Hudson Bay Mines Limited 1500 shares dated July 25th., 1952

Dorval-Siscoe Gold Syndicate, Limited  1 unit, dated March 16th., 1937

Hudson-Patricia Gold Mining Limited, 500 shares, dated November 22nd., 1938

Wakenda Mines, Limited 1000 shares, dated November 27th., 1922

Many thanks, looking forward to your reply

Answer
Brenda, most of those companies predate much of the information I have available. However, I was able to find information on 2 of them.

Hudson Bay Mines has gone through several name changes and at least 1 reverse stock split (a 1 for 20). Today, the company is Akela Pharma, which trades for about 16 cents per share. You will need to contact the current transfer agent, Equity Financial (equityfinancialtrust.com)

Hudson Patrica has no value. The company had its charter cancelled and was dissolved in 1960.

For the others, considering their great age, I suggest you contact a broker and see if they can perform a detailed search for you.
