My husband and I found a letter and a Certificate of Shares after his father passed away.  We were wondering if you could enlighten us on the attached copies to give us an answer.  Thank you.

Answer
Gayle, from the information I have available and your attached letter, it appears your father was a registered shareholder of Atominerals, which was acquired by New Imperial. New Imperial later became Whitehorse Copper Mines (1 Whitehorse for 2 1/2 Imperial), which later was acquired by Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting, which later was acquired by Terra Industires. Terra was acquired in 2010 by CF Industries on the basis of $37.15 in cash and 0.0953 of a share of CF for each Terra Share.

Best thing to do now is contact CF and see if they have your father listed as a shareholder - http://phx.corporate-ir.net/phoenix.zhtml?c=190537&p=irol-irhome. Also, yo ushould check the lost property offices of every State or Province in which your father lived from the time he first acquired the Atominerals shares and see if they have any cash in his name or lost shares. You can search many of them online for free at www.missingmoney.com and www.naupa.org.
