Question
I recently found two types of stock certificates in an old file....the first one is for 500 shares of Guinness Gold Resources Ltd. purchased in 1989....the other is for 200 shares of Villanova Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. purchased in 1984...can you tell me if they are worth anything?

Answer
From the information I have available:

Guinness has no current value. They did a 1 for 7 reverse split and became Roycefield Resources, which was cease-traded and delisted after failing to repay secured loans.

Villanova has no current value. They merged into Evergreen International, which later ran into serious financial difficulty and was suspended, cease-traded and delisted. Those cease-trade orders remain in effect.
