QUESTION: I own 400 shares of RIDGECREST RESOURCES LTD.  how can i find information and the value of this stock that was incorporated in British Colombia and registered at Guaranty Trust Company of Canada?

ANSWER: Unfortunately, from the information I have available, the shares have no current value. The Company went through 2 name changes and changes of business and ended as Johnston & Frye Securities, which was cease-traded and delisted in 1990. The cease-trade order remains in effect.

QUESTION: thank you so much for your prompt answer.  I could have kept on looking on line forever.  I found another piece of information that may or may not make a difference. the name of the company for the shares was Cal Dynamics/Ridgecrest.

I was hoping this additional information would provide the key, but unfortunately, it doesn't. Cal Dynamics was the original name of the Company, but after a 1 for 5 reverse stock split in 1984, the Company changed its name to Ridgecrest. Your certificate is likely the reorganized Cal Dynamic, and the note was added to remind that the cost basis was the Cal Dynamics.
