Question
HI,
My parents gave me 200 shares of Newlund Mines Limited stock, incorporated in the province of ontario, on April 5, 1956. I cannot discover if this stock is still valid. A little sidelight-In the late 50's my Uncle and father were talking about how the Newlund company had a big strike. Yup, it was true, but it was a labor strike. I think they paid no more than a dollar a share.

Thanking you in advance,
Stuart Freeman

Answer
Stuart, from the information I have available, the shares have no current value. The Company went through numerous name changes and reverse splits (2 for 5, then a 1 for 10, then a huge 1 for 150) which alone would have wiped out your original stake. Regardless, the Company ended as Environmental Technologies, which was cease-traded, suspended and delisted in 2001.
