Question
My Grandmother had 60 shares of Discovery Mines Limited, and I was wondering if it is worth anything?

Answer
Kurt, Discovery Mines has gone through a lot of changes. Discovery became Discovery West (1 for 1) which became Magin (0.9846 of a Magin for each share of Discovery West), then NCE Petrofund (0.896 of a NCE unit per share of Magin), then Penn West (0.6 Penn West unit plus $1.10 cash per unit of NCE per unit of NCE). Penn West is now Penn West Petroleum, which trades for about $13 a share on the NYSE.

You need to contact the current transfer agent - CIBC Mellon (www.cibcmellon.com) to determine if the old certificate is valid and, if so, to get it reorganized into the new shares.
