Question
I have found some share certificates from 1974 for non assessable shares without a par value for August Petroleums Ltd. (N.P.L.)issued from various companies as follows: certificate 6047 from Burton & Co as the registered holder of 4 n/a shares dated Sept 11, 1974; cert 5493 from Canarim Investment Corp Ltd for 10 n/a shares dated July 11, 1974; and cert 5715 from Bongard, Leslie & Co. Ltd for 25 n/a shares dated August 6, 1974.  The registered rep was H Hemsworth from Canarim Investment Corp Ltd.  Do these have a connection to Merritech Development Corporation because there is also a prospectus dated Sept 15, 1987 in the file ... any light you can shed on this would be much appreciated, thank youby

Answer
Linda, from the information I have available, August Petroleums did a 1 for 5 reverse split and became Cheyenne Petroleum. Cheyenne was suspended, delisted and cease-traded in 1990, and that cease-trade order remains in effect. Therefore, it appears there is no current value.

I don't believe there is any connection between August and Merritech. Merritech went through numerous name changes and reverse splits and eventually was delisted for failure to pay its fees.
