Canadian Stocks/Old Canadian Stocks

I have found two old stock certificates. One is for Inspiration Limited and is dated 1969 and the other is for the Municipal Financial Corporation and appears to be from 1990. This last one is a rights certificate and was issued by the Montreal Trust Company. Are they worth anything?

Tim, from the information I have available:

Inspiration went bankrupt. Common shareholders were wiped out. No value.

Municipal Financial later became MFC, as well as other name changes, but Rights are limited period securities. They give the holder the right to buy common shares at a specific price by a specific date. If the rights are not exercised by the expiration date, they expire worthless. Check your rights certificate for the expiration date, but I am sure they are long since expired as they are now well over 20 years old.
