Question
I have a stock certificate dated 1944 for 1000 shares in Lake Expanse Gold.  The mining company was incorporated under the Companies Act of Ontario.  The broker nor the transfer agent appear to be current Canadian companies. In 1966 the share certificate was delivered from Goodwin Harris & Company, so the company was active in some capacity. Thanks for your help.

Answer
Tony, from the information I have available, the shares have no current value. The Company did a 1 for 4 reverse split and became Lakex Mines, which was later slapped with a cease-trade order. That cease-trade order remains in effect, and because the stock was inactive without a transfer agent for so long, the DTC later wiped the stock from their system.
