Question
QUESTION: I and my daughter have some certificates bought in 1980.  Do they have any value today?

ANSWER: Velma, from the information I have available, the shares have no current value. The Company was suspended, delisted and cease-traded in 2003. Those cease-trade orders remain in effect.

QUESTION: Does that mean the Company is still in operation.  I don't understand the suspended, and delisted and cease-traded statement.  Are they just not traded in Canada or USA?
Thank you for answering my inquiry.

Answer
Velma, a stock is suspended and cease-traded when they do not comply with securities regulations. In this case, the company stopped filing their financial statements and reports back in 2003. Under the cease-trade order, the shares cannot be traded. Since the company stopped filing the reports over a decade ago, they are defunct.
