Question
I have 400 shares of midcon oil & gas limited bought in 1953 . Are they worth anything

Answer
Rich, from the information I have available:

Midcon became Discovery West (9 new shares for 5 old shares) which became Magin (0.9846 of a Magin for each share of Discovery West), then NCE Petrofund (0.896 of a NCE unit per share of Magin), then Penn West (0.6 Penn West unit plus $1.10 cash per unit of NCE per unit of NCE). Penn West is now Penn West Petroleum, which trades for about $9.50 a share on the NYSE. You will need to contact Penn West's current transfer agent (www.canstockta.com) to see if your shares are valid and, if so, convert them to Penn West.
