Question
My mother recently came across some shares my Grandfather purchased in 1949, they were Capital shares, It says he purchased 16,667 shares at a $1.00 each at the time. The mine was Middle Bay Mines limited at the time and is now owned by Gold Corp. Now what do we do and is there any value?

Answer
Christine, from the information I have available, the share have no current value. The Company was dissolved in the early 1970's.

Mining properties frequently change hands due to the cyclical nature of the industry and the commodity prices. It is not unusual to see a mining property pass through 10 or more companies over a 40 or 50 year span.
