Question
HI,

I have found old stock certificates for the Canadian Breweries Limited issued in 1963 (2 shares) and 1964 (10 shares).  Are they worth anything or are they just part of our family history now?

thank you for your help,

Kristen

Answer
Kristen, from the information I have available, the company changed its name to Carling O'Keefe in the early 1970's. It was later acquired in 1987 for $18 per share cash. The registered holder should have received a check at that time, and may not have been required to submit the certificates for payment.
