Question
I have the following stock certificates held for my mother. Wondering if they are all defunct? Thanks for any info; Liz
Uranium Valley Mines ltd (June 16, 1969)(registered Canadian Trust Company Ontario)
Canaustra gold exploration Ltd (Cliff resources Corportation)
1988 Ontario
Maricana Enterprises ltd 1971 Canada
Porcupine Prime Mines Ltd 1965 Ontario
Stannis Investments Ltd Ontario 1968
Innova Exploration Ltd 2007 Alberta

Answer
Liz, from the information I have available:

Uranium Valley has no value. The Company had a name change before being dissolved in the 1970's.

Canaustra did have a 3 for 4 consolidation and became Cliff Resources. Cliff had several name changes and became Innova Exploration, which was acquired by Crescent Point for $7.55 cash per share in 2007. The registered holder should have received a check at that time.

Maricana has no value. The Company had its charter cancelled in the 1970's.

Porcupine has no value. The Company had a name change before having its charter cancelled and being dissolved.

I have no information on Stannis Investments. Considering the age, I suggest you try contact Ontario as the Province of Incorporation and see what information they may have, or contact a broker and ask them to perform a detailed search for you.
