Question
I recently found an old stock certificate in my late husband's belongings from East Malartic Mines Limited dated March of 1974. Does it have any value? it is for 20 shares.

Answer
Debbie, from the information I have available, it is possible the certificate has current value. The Company was one of four that became LAC Minerals (0.94 of a LAC share for each East Malartic share), and LAC was later acquired by Barrick. You will need to contact Barrick's current transfer agent (www.canstockta.com) and see if your old certificate is valid and, if so, if they have your husband listed as a current shareholder.
