Question
My late father in-law held some very old Canadian Mining stock certificates. They are Rolartic Mines Ltd. (Quebec 1966), MacKenzie Hills Mines Ltd. (Ontario 1965), Fort George Mines Ltd. (Ontario 1966), and Clearwater Mines Ltd. (New Brunswick 1968). Do these companies exist anymore? Is there any value? Thank you for your assistance. Bob

Answer
Bob, from the information I have available:

Rolartic seems to have faded away. It was last traded in the US gray market years ago, but does not seem to have been actively traded for some time. I don't believe there are any current transfer facilities for them, either, which strongly suggests no current value.

MacKenzie Hills merged into Alchib Developments, then changed names often, and performed at least 1 reverse split before becoming Cercal Minerals.  Cercal ran into serious financial difficulty in 1994 and was suspended, delisted, and cease-traded in 1994/1995. Those cease-trade orders remain in effect. No current value.

Fort George had a merger before being dissolved in the early 1980's. No value.

Clearwater was dissolved in the late 1990's. No current value.
