Question
I have found an old certificate from United Farmers of Alberta Co-operative Limited dated Jan 1966 which reads in part - Capital - An unlimited number of ordinary (Membership) shares of par value $5.00 each and 20,000 "Series A" non-cumulative Preference Share of par value $25.00 each.

Does this have any value beyond his 5 shares that he had originally purchased as identified on this certificate?

Answer
Sue, that is a co-op membership certificate, not a public share certificate. I suggest you contact United Farmers directly. They are a very large business concern owned by its members and they should be able to tell you about the certificate.
