Question
Hello:  while cleaning out old files from my parents estate, I came across some stock share certificates.  How can I find out if they are valid today or what if anything, can I do with them?

Thank you for your help.

Answer
Teri, if you have a few certificates, you can post them here and I can do my best to search them for you. You can also contact the transfer agent for each company (listed on the certificate) as they will know if the certificate has any current value. Also, you can contact the Province of Incorporation (also on the certificate) and see what information they have available. Or, if you have a large number of certificates, I suggest you contact a broker and ask them to help in your search.
