Question
My father purchased some shares years ago.
Just curious if they have any worth.
Roycefield Resources Ltd.   28 shares
Flagship Resources Ltd.     250 shares
Flagship Industries Inc.    1000 shares
Thank you in advance if you are able to help me with this.
Wendy

Answer
Wendy, from the information I have available:

Roycefield has no current value. The Company ran into serious financial difficulty and became insolvent in 2000. Their secured creditor enforced his repayment rights and foreclosed on the Company's assets. There was nothing left for common shareholders.

Flagship had a 1 for 4 reverse split and name change, so the two Flagship certificates are the same company. They almost certainly sent out the new certificate and did not require the submission of the old certificate, but cancelled it on their transfer agent books. The Company later had two more name changes and a huge 1 for 60 reverse split and is currently Bravern Ventures. You will need to contact the current transfer agent, Computershare (www.computershare.com) to confirm this information and have the certificate reorganized.
