Candle & Soap Making/Wick Will Not Stay Lighted

Question
Because the pool of wax melts and the wick is real low to the wide candle, it will not stay lit. What can I use to dig the wick out so it stays lit? Any more suggestions?
Appreciatively, Marge

Answer
Hi Marge,

I have a couple of suggestions that you could try. You could try and scrape some of the wax away. However, that may not take care of the problem. I'm afraid that if you dig around wick you will only create a hole of sorts, which the wax will melt into and still drown out your wick. That wax will melt faster than the wick can burn so it will drown. Second suggestion is to pull out the existing wick and replace it with another.

Hope that helps
