Candle & Soap Making/fragrance in candle making

Question
Dear Neecie,
I am a beginning candle maker and I am still in the experimental stages
where I play with different waxes, wicks and fragrances. Having a lot of fun!
However, I stumbled upon a site that said that the best way to add fragrance
to a candle is by LAYERING it with the wax - not adding it to the wax in the
melting pot. I have never heard this before and wanted to find further info on
the subject. If you have any experience or knowledge in this Neecie I would
be so grateful if you would share it with me. I thank you in advance and hope
to hear from you soon.
kind regards,
milla

Answer
Hi Milla,

I am not familiar with the layering technique.  I've always added my fragrance into the hot wax and stirred it in.  I think that is how most candle makers put fragrance in their candles.  Without knowing the article that you are referring to, I am wondering if it could be talking about it having two fragrances burning at the same time.  Or perhaps layering the candle itself.  Where one layer of wax is apple, the next layer cinnamon and another layer vanilla.  I am intrigued by this technique and I'm going to see if I can find more information about it.
