Question
Can i get some insight on air pockets. I find 90% of my candles end up with air pockets. I've tried pouring at all differant temps. hot jars, room temp jars, cooler wax. ect..
Is there any suggestions or recommendations that you can give me.

Thanks for your time

Brenda

Answer
Hi Brenda,

I'm wondering if you are using soy wax or paraffin and what type of air pockets are you experiencing.  In soy, I've had some HUGE craters in my candles.  I found that if poured very cool, around 135° it fixed my problem.
Also, pouring gently helps as well.

Preheat container - In most instances warm to the touch is all that is needed.  I heat my jars on low- about 150°. No hotter!

Lastly, and this is what I find that really helps is once I've poured my candles into my containers, I tap the heck out of the jars.  As you do this, you can see air come up.  It really does help.
