Candle & Soap Making/bundt cake candles

Question
I am about to make my first bundt cake candle. In reading materials as to how it is done, I have not found one that tells me what to do with the wicks on the inside of the mold.  While I realize they are sealed on the outside to prevent leakage, how do you secure the wicks on the inside and how long should each wick be. Should the metal tab be even with the top of the open mold?

Thank you.

Answer
Hi Lil,

I will be honest and tell you I have never made a bundt cake candle.  However, I perhaps can set your mind at ease a bit when you are preparing to make this candle.  The wick length will be dependent upon the size of your mold.  I'm not sure if you are making a regular sized bundt cake or if you are making mini's.  But nonetheless you want your wicking to run the entire height of the candle. I think the easiest way to insert a wick into the type of candle you want to make is to drill it.  Take a small drill bit, like a 3/32 and drill a hole and insert your wick.  That way your wicks are placed to your perfection.  You don't have to worry about wax leaking or your wicks floating.  Hope that helps!
