Question
I have research soy and parrafin wax candles, from reading books, internet articles etc. I would like to know what is the best soy wax to use and wicks...my goal is to start a homebased soy candle business in a couple of months. I have made parrafin wax candles just for my own personal use. I love crafts and enjoy making a variety of items. Any suggestions on soy wax, wicks, pricing, getting started. I want to offer designer brand fragrance oils, and basically offer container candles in variety of sizes.

Answer
Hi Angie,
There are so many waxes that on the market today. It's hard for me to say that one particular wax is the best. My best advice that I can give you is to start with any soy wax and test it extensively. Testing every ingredient that you put into your candle is extremely important. These are products that your potential customers will be lighting on fire. You want to keep your customer safe as will as their home and yourself. Perfecting your candle can sometimes take months so please be patient. You will want to be sure to be insured as you start out your new business. In just starting out, you may want to invest into a starter kit of sorts. They are affordable and come with most of the equipment you'll need.
