Question
I have Yaley wax candle that is for molds. Can I make container canles from it? What would be your instructions? I want to make candles in glass jar containers and maybe tins.

Thanks for your help.

Answer
Hi there,
I can only assume this wax for molds would something comparable to a votive or pillar type of wax. That type of wax would be unsuitable for container type candles. In order to make container candles, you would need a softer wax. Preferably something with a lower melt point. If you went ahead and used the wax you have in a container, it would most likely tunnel down the middle leaving alot of hang-up on the sides. Which in the industry is a bad thing. The goal of every candlemaker is to get a complete burn along with scent throw.  There are many types of wax available on the market today, with many types of applications. When you are making candles, make sure you have the correct wax for what you are doing. Otherwise, you'll end up frustrated. Would you know the melt point of the Yaley wax you have?
