Question I have a few handmade candle holders, a pair of copper sconces and some tin
(?) holders in the shape of pine trees. They all have different sized bases and
are relatively low in height, 7-9 inches overall.
I looked everywhere for candles to fit them and finally found some in a church
supply store. I needed 1, 1-1/16 and 1-1/4 inches in diameter. They had
those widths but only in 16-19" lengths.
I would like to cut these into 2 or 3 candles of either 6 or 8 inches long. Do
you have any advice on the best way to cut them into sections? The candles
are 51% beeswax and columnar with plain ends.
Answer Hi David,
Unfortunately, this isn't really my area of expertise. I've never had to cut any candle in half for any reason. I'm not sure if you used a jig saw or a hack saw that it work for you. My main concern is that if you try to cut these in any way, that the candle itself could crack, crumble or cause some type of split. This type of wax whether it's beeswax or any other type of pillar is a very hard wax. Sorry I couldn't be of any more help to you. Good luck to you!
