Candle & Soap Making/soap making mystery

Question
Hi Terry, we currently make silicone molds for production of therapudic natural soaps.  A soap maker, having tried these molds for the first time has had a puzzling result.  The natural colour of their soap is bright orange with a high oil base. A hot process is used. The negative result is the soap lost its colour (turned chalkey) and crumbled when demolded. No one else I have talked to in the industry has heard nor experienced such a result, either from silicone molds or any other kind of mold.  Could you tell me what could be wrong?

Answer
Hi Sharon!

There is obviously some chemical reaction occuring.  Because there are so many factors to consider, That is about all I can say without more information.  I would need to know what is used in making the mold and the formula for the soap.  You probably would not want that information posted on the site, but if you would like, you can e-mail me with the information at:

I would be glad to look into this farther if you can send that information to me.

Have a Great Day!
Terry
