Question
I have two pit bulls, they are so sweet, they live outside during the day, they sleep inside, this past nights I've seen a cat looking for food in my back yard, but today the cat came during the day and my dogs got him and killed him, do you think animal control is going to do something against us/my dogs?
Prey driven behavior is normal in dogs and your dogs seem to have acted as a "pack"...one was the initiator and the other followed. You may be subject to a lawsuit from the person who owned the cat and you are certainly liable. It is possible that animal control will visit you and because your dogs are Pit Bulls you will be put on a list of people who own "problem dogs."

That day I called Animal Control, they came and picked up the cat, and I had no problems, because my backyard is fenced and was the cat who came in here looking for food, so the I guess he didn't have a good owners. I still feel sorry for the cat, but thank God we didn't get in trouble, and once again thank you for taking the time to answer my question. | ||

My practice is presently limited to forensics. I diagnose cause of dog bite, based upon testimony before the Court, for attorneys and insurance companies litigating dog bites, including fatal injuries. I also do pro bono work for bona fide rescue organizations, humane societies, et al, regarding such analysis in an effort to obtain release for dogs being held for death in municipal shelters in the US.
