I have had the same problems with my standard poodle and as of late have been working with a trainer who trains service dogs.  She told me that to stop his barking at passerbys and at guests at the door....to get a good spray bottle.  Add water to some vinegar and adjust the bottle to a stream not a spray.  Every he barks spray him with the vinegar water in the face.  It has worked great for me. She is a Godsend.  Treats of a tasty nature, used as bait when strange dogs are close by have helped me to break him of his aggressive behavior around strange dogs.  He has almost taken my fingers as he is uncomfortable around the strange dogs.  But he is getting better.  Not a  quick fix, but he is getting better. I use a gentle leader head harness on him and I don't have a problem controlling him.  He doesn't like the head harness and tried to avoid getting it on.... but once on, he is for the most part under control. I have never had to use severe pinch collars on him and it took me awhile to discover how to put the head harness on correctly. But we are a team  now and he is my service dog.

Expertise

Jennifer of http://www.DynamicDogsChicago.com I can answer all questions on dog behavior, including common behavioral problems/issues and how to solve them. Many behaviors are natural and normal to dogs, but if it bothers the owner, it is an "issue". NO MATTER WHAT I TELL YOU OVER THE COMPUTER- your dog has to be evaluated in person and you need the help of a qualified dog trainer, especially for aggression issues. All dogs need a foundation of obedience, because you cannot properly correct behavior if a dog isn't trained. It is not very helpful for me to instruct you on a dog I have never seen in person, and an owners interpretation of the behavior isn't always correct, so try to just describe it, without adding in what YOU think it means. PLEASE NO MORE QUESTIONS ON HOUSEBREAKING
