The high pitched bark I call cry bark  Our shephard is 1 year old and the cry bark comes when we leave, can't get her toy because it under something or when she want's attention.

Our has calmed down a bit--but when company comes, she gets so excited, she can't control herself.  We have to cage her until she calms herself.   She loves chasing the balls and toys we have for her.   She pulls out the squeeky part of her toys and  tears them up.  She is a love.   IF my husband or I get mad at her, she goes to the other one--waits and goes back to the original parent and begins kissing.  Ferocious watch dog, not so much.
