Question
Hi, I have a 98 acura 1.6 el and my factory alarm goes off
for
no apparent reason, I have a aftermarket alarm/starter
installed. When the factory alarm goes off, all the lights
flash and the horn honks. When I lock my doors with the
remote, the factory car security light flash, same with the
aftermarket alarm light. I was hoping their something that I
could do to prevent the alarm from going off or even be able
to disable/or reset the factory car alarm.

Answer
MOST REMOTE STARTERS
AND NEW CAR ALARMS HAVE AN OUTPUT
FOR THIS CONTINGENCY.

Go to www.relayhelp.com and see disarming
using a negative trigger output. Also,
check you installation manual and
vehicle notes to get the correct wires.

You would need to send the same neg pulse that the
unlock wire gets, to the OEM disarm wire too
to have them work as desired.

Take it back to the installer for this
modification.
