Question

Hawk HA280 Pro Info
Hi,  if you could help I would be most grateful.

I purchased and fitted a Hawk HA-280 Pro alarm a while ago onto my Landrover Defender that I use only occasionally and I have a problem with a drain on the battery that could relate to the wiring of the immobiliser relay.  (Wiring diagram and text attached)

The text in the installation manual says that the two green wires coming from the immobiliser relay should be “Normally Closed” which would normally be (30 & 87a)
Does this mean that:-
1) the immobiliser relay is meant to be energised all of the time that the alarm is ON.
2) the yellow wire on connector C1 is meant to go to ground when the alarm is ON.
3) the Yellow wire on connector C2 is meant to be live when the alarm is ON.
4) the Yellow wire on connector C2 would supply a live feed to the accessory circuit when the alarm is ON.

However the installation diagram shows the two green wires coming from the immobiliser relay connected to the “Normally Open” terminals (30 & 87) which would make more sense to me.
If this was correct then does this mean that:-
1) the immobiliser relay is meant to be energised all of the time that the alarm is OFF and the ignition is ON.
2) the yellow wire on connector C1 is meant to go to ground when the alarm is OFF.
3) the Yellow wire on connector C2 is meant to be live only when Remote Starting.
4) the Yellow wire on connector C2 is meant supply a live feed to the accessory circuit when Remote Starting.

It all comes down to two things, when should the:-
a) Yellow wire on connector C1 go to ground? Alarm ON or Alarm OFF or something else?
b) Yellow wire on connector C2 be live? Alarm ON or Alarm OFF or Remote Starting or something else?
