Car Alarms/chapman alarm system

Question
We have a chapman alarm system 450 in our 1999 mazda miata. We just purchased this car and don't like this alarm in it. Is there a way to just disarm it and leave it that way or should we have it taken out. I would love to take it out myself but am afraid I might make our car where it won't start at all. Also, we only have one remote. Could we order another remote for it, because if we lost the only one we had, we'd be screwed! Thanks,.

Answer
Kinda all over the map here man.
Which is it? Want to get another remote,
or remove it?

If you don't care for the system, then by all means
replace it with one you do like and that has
fresh remotes. That makes for a better security
experience.

Take it to a local shop for a re do.

Good luck.
