Expert: ALARMTEK - 6/11/2010

The other day the keychain remote for the alarm system broke completely, so I've been doing research to see how to disable the car alarm and just go about driving it without worrying about the alarm going off every so often, I read an answer from an older post with pretty much the similar problem i'm having and tried the fix that was explained, which was to basically wait for your car alarm to go off - put the key in the ignition - and pressed this button I found under my console, it made a sound as if it disarmed the alarm, but now I can't start the car and I can't reverse what I've done... I'm pretty sure my battery is now completely dead from the alarm going off like crazy and all the attempts i've made to fix it with no luck, but now the alarm goes off when I shut the door oppose to opening the door (seems like its working backwards). So basically I tried to disable the alarm from info i've read and now I can't even start my car , going to try and get a jump now.... I really do not know much about cars as you can already tell by reading this wall of text, if there is any information someone could provide me that could possibly fix this issue to where my alarm isn't always going off and to where I can actually start my car up and just use the car key oppose to relying on the anti-theft system / car alarm / keychain remote seeing as thats  been nothing but trouble so far... thanks in advance... I guess...

Hmmmm,
Make sure you do the procedure correctly.
Might have missed a step:

PUT IGNITION KEY IN IGNITION,
KEY ON TO JUST BEFORE CRANKING THE ENGINE.
PRESS IN AND HOLD VALET SWITCH
UNTIL YOU GET A RESPONCE
FROM THE ALARM.

KEY OFF.

This should toggle the alarm in and out of
valet/override.

If toggle type switch.
KEY ON, FLIP SWITCH, KEY OFF,
START THE CAR.

I hope this solved it for you.
