Car Alarms/alarm will not reset

Question
Changed the battery on our rx300 and now the alarm is constant.  Have tried with the key left to right in the drivers door and no luck. It is a factory system (horn and lights) and I tried everything in the manual.  Nothing in the question and answer of this site fits.
