Car Alarms/remote start not working properly

Question
2002 ford explorer xlt (v6)
when you use the remote start it will turn on then off; it will keep trying to start a couple of times.
I found some wires disconnected next to the gas & brake peddle, but don't know where they go. I'm guessing its the tachometer connection.
