Expert: ALARMTEK - 11/9/2011

I recently had a problem with a 85 maxima's alarm.  The alarm system would randomly trip, and not allow me to start the car. I replaced the alarm system module, which seemed to do the trick.  However, I still have a little problem.  The security light, to the left of the steering while, blinks about every second when the car is not running.  This car is not an everyday vehicle, and this light is draining the battery.  By the time I use the car again, the battery is dead.  Do you have any idea why the light constantly illuminates? If there is no simple fix, how can I disable the light?
