Expert: ALARMTEK - 12/25/2011

Question
I have a 1999 V6 camaro. As soon as I open my door I have to put my key in the ignition ASAP otherwise the alarm will go off, but it wont kill the starter. Recently it has been going off as soon as i open my door and kills the starter imediately. The first couple times it had happend I waited for the alarm to stop, then I waited an extra few minutes to start the car and it would work. This morning when that had happend i waited for the alarm to stop then proceeded putting my key in the ignition, (didnt open or close doors just sat in the seat the whole time) as soon as I put my key in, the alarm went off again. This happend about 4 times in a row. About the 5th time my car started. What can I do?

Not an uncommon issue in this vehicle. :>(
You will likely need to bypass it.

Yours is the VATS system and would require
the PLJX and relay bypass kit to solve this issue
if not wanting GM to repair it to specifications.
