I have lost my Keys to my 2000 Honda accord LX sedan again. I first lost them a few years ago and had to have it towed to the Honda Dealership to get new keys made.

I have a 2000 Accord, and I lost my only key. I have a reproduction key but of course it will turn over the motor but won't start the ignition. What's going to be my cheapest alternative to getting my car running? Can I some how disengage the immobilizer chip? Will I have to get it towed to the dealer to get another key or can I give them some key code located within the car??? Please help, Thanks!!

The bypass for this car is called the
IM05 and would work as long as there are original
programmed keys to be able to learn the code from. :>(
It's "Cart before the horse" on these. Short of towing
it into have it reset by Honda code machine, and getting
2 new keys made, the original keys would need to
exsist before we could bypass it.
Best idea is to have them reset it, make new keys,
then bypass if for good with the IM05 module so this
issue goes away completely.

My Question is this, Since I have already been through this process in the Past. Is there a cheaper way to go about getting new keys.
-(1)-Shouldn't the dealership have some record of the last time I came in that      they can use to program me a New key?

issue goes away completely." What does this mean? Is the immobilizer chip now permanently bypassed so that i can use a key without a computer chip?
-(3)- Is there a way to "Hot Wire" my car? This car is old and I only use it to drive to work. (In fact, I would just sell it now that i can drive it, but it might be a tough sell without a key.) So, I could care less if all that was needed to start the car was the flip of a switch.  

Whats going to be the best way to get this pos running again? (I'm Rooting for Option 3)

No way to "hot wire" so forget that.
& yes, the dealer would have that record sure,
by using the vehicle VIN on record, but,
it's unlikely there is a cheaper way to get keys done
the way you are wanting it to.

The ignition "Transponder" keys are security keys.
This Honda system is not built to be bypassed, or removed.
& remember for Honda, this was a source
of revenue in parts. They make money in replacing these
keys when lost so they would not make it easy
for anyone to mess with it.

And yes again, the IM05 (now 89.95) would require 2 working
transponder keys to even program it to operate,
but once done, it would allow the use of any key
in the ignition. The rub is you need 2 PROGRAMMED
ignition keys to do this bypass kit, so no savings
there & not a viable solution here.

Wish there was a magic wand for you, but you are simply
going to have to aquire and KEEP TRACK of new keys
for this car, or get new keys and sell the car,
or get the 2 keys and IM05 KIT and program it
so you can simply drive it, but if looking for a
cheapo way out, I don't have one for you.

It looks like one way or another, it's going to cost you
money to get it going again.
