Car Alarms/Disabling or disarming factory alarm

Question
QUESTION: My son has a 1994 Bronco with a dead battery. Needless to say there is no remote for the factory alarm system. It had been long lost prior to his purchasing it. The battery is dead and needs changing out but the alarm sounds when the terminal wires are reconnected. How is the alarm disabled or disarmed? He just needs to be able to start the truck.

ANSWER: Please be more descriptive if possible.

"GOING OFF?"

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)=FACTORY

Or,

is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?= AFTER MARKET

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take.

QUESTION: He was told by the local ford dealership a ways back when he bought it that he has a factory alarm system. Problem is THEY told him it'd "cost at LEAST 250 bucks to uninstall it", or he can purchase a brand new remote for it for the tidy little sum of 75 BUCKS! For a 1994 truck?!? Thanks, but NO! If I am not mistaken I believe he said the horn goes off. All we want is to be able to start and drive it.

Answer
I get that you want it to start, and that also tells me it is
actually an after market system with starter kill.
So it's likely to be 2 seperate systems at work here.

The OEM/FACTORY system would activate the horn and headlights,
but does not include a starter disable. So that's actually
a good thing.

To disarm the OEM Ford alarm when the horn starts to honk
put the key in the drivers door, turn hard left the hard right
to disarm and unlock/drive.

If you can't, then see past posts on VALET override to
see how to get around your situation.

250.00 is ubsurd!
