Expert: ALARMTEK - 5/8/2011

Question
The remote has been lost on the above car and when you open the door the alarm goes off. I have tried discounting the battery and other things, including holding the button under the dash, but the vehicle will not start or engine turn over and the battery is charged up.  This happened all of the sudden, we have been operating it ok without the remote.  Please help me if you can.

Hmmmm,
Make sure you do the procedure correctly.
Might have missed a step:

PUT IGNITION KEY IN IGNITION,
KEY ON TO JUST BEFORE CRANKING THE ENGINE.
PRESS IN AND HOLD VALET SWITCH
UNTIL YOU GET A RESPONCE
FROM THE ALARM.

KEY OFF.

This should toggle the alarm in and out of
valet/override.

If toggle type switch.
KEY ON, FLIP SWITCH, KEY OFF,
START THE CAR.

I hope this solved it for you.

or repair.
